Drone filming and aerial video in Wakefield

Licensed, insured drone pilots capturing your site, venue or project from the air, with footage edited for websites, social media, tenders and progress reports.

Yorkshire-wide filming

✦ Overview

Some stories only make sense from above. A construction project, a large industrial site, a wedding venue set in open countryside or a new housing development all look more impressive when people can see the full scale. Our drone team films across Wakefield and the wider Yorkshire region, planning every flight around safety, weather and the permissions the location needs. Because we are also a video production and web design studio, the footage does not just sit on a hard drive. We edit it into films, stills and short clips that work on your website, in tenders and on social media, and we can combine aerial shots with ground filming for a complete story.

✦ Questions

Good questions,
straight answers.

Are your drone pilots licensed and insured?

Yes. Our pilots are licensed to operate commercially and we carry insurance for drone work.

Can you fly in built-up areas or near airports?

Often, yes. We check the airspace for every job and handle any permissions needed before we fly.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first, so we reschedule if wind or rain makes flying unsafe and agree a new date with you.

✦ Let’s talk

Drone filming across Wakefield and Yorkshire

Aerial footage changes how people see a place. A building site becomes a clear story of progress, a venue reveals its grounds and setting, and an industrial operation shows its true scale in a single shot. For many Wakefield businesses, a few seconds of drone footage communicates more than a page of description ever could.

We fly across the Wakefield district and the wider Yorkshire region, from town-centre developments and business parks near the M1 and M62 to rural venues, farms and estates. Our pilots plan every job carefully, and because we are also a video production and web design studio, the footage is shaped from the start around how you will use it: on your website, in a tender, on social media or in a progress report for stakeholders.

Past aerial work includes filming for clients such as Unity Hall and Bellsmith Scaffolding, where drone shots were combined with ground footage and used across new websites to show the scale of the spaces and projects involved.

What we film from the air

Construction and development progress

Repeat flights from the same positions at agreed intervals build a visual record of a project from groundworks to completion. Developers, contractors and investors use this footage for client updates, marketing, case studies and as a reference when questions come up later. We can deliver stills for reports and short edits for presentations.

Property, venues and estates

Wedding venues, hotels, holiday lets, commercial property and new housing developments all benefit from showing their surroundings. Aerial shots give buyers and guests a sense of location, access, parking and green space that ground photography struggles to capture.

Industrial and logistics sites

Yards, plants, warehouses and fleets are hard to photograph well from the ground. From the air, the size and organisation of an operation become obvious, which helps in tenders, recruitment and marketing to larger customers.

Events

Outdoor shows, festivals, sports events and community gatherings look spectacular from above. We plan event flights around crowds and safety requirements, often pairing aerial coverage with a ground crew so the final film tells the whole story.

Marketing and brand films

Drone shots work best as part of a wider film. Our video production team blends aerial footage with interviews, behind-the-scenes filming and product shots to create brand films that hold attention and explain what makes your business different.

Safety, planning and permissions

Responsible drone work starts long before take-off. For every job we check the location against airspace restrictions, look at nearby buildings, roads and public areas, and assess how weather and timing will affect the flight. Our pilots are licensed for commercial operations and we carry insurance for aerial work.

Some locations need extra steps. Sites close to airports, busy town centres or areas with restrictions may require permissions or coordination before we can fly. We handle that process for you and explain clearly if a particular shot is not possible, along with alternatives that achieve a similar result.

On industrial and construction sites we follow your own safety rules, complete inductions where needed and agree take-off and landing zones with your site manager. We carry out a risk assessment for each flight and share our plan in advance so everyone knows what to expect on the day.

What you receive

Deliverables are agreed before filming so you get exactly what you need. Typical packages include some or all of the following:

We can also add your aerial footage directly to your website, optimised so pages still load quickly. Video that is hosted and compressed properly looks sharp without slowing visitors down.

Using drone footage to win more work

Great footage is only valuable if people see it. Because we also build websites and run marketing campaigns, we can plan how your aerial content will be used across every channel. A hero video on your homepage, a gallery on a project page, a short teaser on LinkedIn and a highlight reel in a tender document can all come from the same shoot.

Search engines also notice video. Properly described and embedded footage can help your pages stand out in results, especially for location-based searches. Our digital marketing team can promote your films through social and paid campaigns aimed at the customers you want to reach.

How a typical drone shoot runs

Every project begins with a short conversation about what the footage is for. A tender video for a contractor needs different shots from a venue's homepage film, so we agree the purpose, the key views and the final formats before anything else is planned.

Next comes the desk work. We study the site on maps, check the surrounding airspace, note any roads, footpaths or neighbouring buildings and decide where the drone will take off and land. If permissions are required, we apply for them at this stage. You receive a simple plan showing the date, the expected flight times and anything we need from you, such as access or a site contact.

On the day, our crew arrives early to walk the location, carry out final checks and brief anyone on site. Flights are usually short and focused, with several passes of each shot so the editor has options. If conditions change, we pause or reschedule rather than take risks.

After the shoot, footage is graded, edited and reviewed with you. Most clients receive a first edit within days, followed by one round of changes before final delivery in every format agreed at the start. For ongoing construction work, we set up a repeat schedule so each visit captures the same angles and the finished series shows clear, consistent progress from start to finish.

Pricing

Drone shoots are priced to scope, because the time, crew and permissions involved vary a great deal between a single property flight and a multi-day construction series. We will give you a clear written quote once we understand the location, the shots you need and how the footage will be used.

Many clients combine aerial filming with a new website. Our brochure websites start from around £3,500, and Rhubarb managed hosting starts from £60 pcm (+VAT), keeping your site and its video content fast, secure and up to date.

Why choose a Wakefield drone team

Our studio is at Unit 2.5, Corn Mill, Tileyard North, Wakefield WF1 5FY. Being local means we can respond quickly when the weather window is right, revisit sites for progress filming without long travel times and get to know the locations we fly regularly.

We are not a drone-only operator. Our team plans, films, edits and publishes in-house, so your aerial footage becomes part of a finished film, a better website or a marketing campaign rather than a folder of files. To talk through your project, call 01924 977779 or get in touch online.

More questions about drone filming

How far in advance should we book?

For simple flights a week or two is often enough. Sites that need permissions, multiple visits or event coordination benefit from more notice, so tell us as early as you can.

Can you film inside buildings with a drone?

In some cases, yes, using smaller drones suited to indoor flying. We assess the space first and will suggest ground-based alternatives if they will produce a better result.

Can we use the footage however we like?

Yes. Once the project is complete, you can use the agreed footage across your website, social media, presentations and printed materials.

Do you film outside Yorkshire?

We focus on Wakefield and Yorkshire, but we travel further for the right project. Let us know where you are and we will confirm what is possible.
